Konferenciák 1928 előtt
1922, június 28-tól július 2-ig Sárospatakon, Erdőbényén, Olaszliszkán, Vámosújfalun tartották a teológusok második országos konferenciáját. A konferencia elnökévé Zajti Ferenc legidősebb teológust (Budapest) választották.
1921. január 25-én egynapos téli konferenciát tartott az SDG Budapesten. A gönci konferencia (1923) június 28-án kezdődött és négy napig tartott 60 résztvevővel, Kováts J. István teológiai igazgató elnöklete mellett, Töltéssy Zoltán rendezésében. A bibliatanulmányozások témái: Az élet nehézségei és küzdelmei, Az élet örömei és ígéretei, Az eszményi életcél. A gödöllői konferencián 1921. június 26-29-ig már a teológusok mellett részt vettek tanítóképzősök, jogászok, műegyetemi hallgatók, orvostanhallgatók, bölcsészek, gimnazisták. Itt kapcsolódtak be a Szövetség munkájába először más fakultások tagjai. Szűcs Ernő vezette a bibliatanulmányozást minden nap. 1925-ben Budapesten június 30-tól július 4-ig leányok konferenciája, Kápolnásnyéken július 1-5-ig középiskolás fiúk gyűlése volt. A zánkai konferenciára érkezőket július 6-án a nagy létszám miatt 14 sátor fogadta. A konferencia központi gondolata: A történelmi kálvinizmus ideáljának szolgálata a Magyar Református Egyházban. Ezen a konferencián hangzott el először az SDG zánkai himnusza: "Felderült ránk ez új reggel, száll ajkunkról az ima, áldunk, Atyánk ez új napért, Soli Deo Gloria!" - hogy azután annyi szárszói tábor reggeli zászlófelvonásán is elhangozzék majd. A Vekerle-telepi téli konferencia (1925. december 29-től 1926. január 1-ig) a keresztyén ember szabadságával foglalkozott.
1926-ban 264 középiskolás diákleány, 459 középiskolás fiú vett részt az egri, diósgyőri leány; az aggteleki, tatai, poroszlói fiúkonferenciákon. A bakonyszentkirályi konferenciának 1927. június 22-26-ig 50 résztvevője volt, a Polgárdiban tartott főiskolás fiúkonferencián 120-an jelentek meg. Az 1928-as ceglédi téli konferencián, melyre a vártnál többen jelentkeztek, Móricz Zsigmond: A magyar ifjúság, a magyar termőfa címmel tartott előadást. "Tíz év óta nem foglalkoztam annyit egyházam dolgával, mint ma."
